Meet The Ministers
Dr. Schuyler Peterson was called to be the Senior Pastor of Southside in 2011. His desire is to connect God’s unchanging truth with a diverse culture through creative and relevant teaching. Always centered on a key passage of Scripture, he helps people relate to God through His Word. Schuyler is a husband and a father of three daughters.
Cameron was called to be the Children's Minister in October of 2013. He has a passion for teaching kids about Jesus and God's love for them. He believes parents should be the primary spiritual leaders for their kids, and is anxious to come alongside them, teach and love their kids, and support them however he can through the Children's Ministry. Cameron's wife, Jamie, is a huge part of his ministry. They live in Spartanburg and have one son and one daughter.
Rev. Chris Murrell was called to Southside in 2013 to serve in the areas of Music and Senior Adults. Chris has served churches in Perry, Georgia, Boiling Springs, South Carolina, and Greenville, South Carolina. Chris is husband to the musically talented Tammy Parris Murrell, originally from Spartanburg. They have one son, Cade, who enjoys music, art, and comic strips. Worship is man’s highest calling! Trey was called to be the Youth and College Minister here at Southside in 2014. Working with Youth and College students is something that Trey and his family find great pleasure in doing. Trey desires to see students trust Christ and deepen their faith. It is his goal through the teaching God’s word, worship, and fellowship to see believers develop a dynamic faith. Trey also enjoys partnering with families to see them grow in their faith together as parents are on the frontline each day in the war for their students heart. Trey delights in watching college students develop a passion for Christ and committing to a life dedicated to ministry. Trey is a husband and a father to one daughter.
Lori has served as Ministry Assistant for the Pastor/Receptionist for a number of years. Her desire is to serve others, thus enabling Southside to reach Spartanburg with the Gospel. Facilitating our DivorceCare program is dear to her heart. She has six children: two boys and four girls.
Cindy came to Southside to serve as Church Administrator/Financial Secretary in March of 2013. Her desire is to support the mission of the church by focusing on the day-to-day operations. Cindy is married and has two daughters and one son.
